This class will act as an introduction to music concepts including basic theory, rhythm, melody, singing and playing together, and the value of entertainment and fun while performing.
In this co-ed and inclusive program, students will learn the basics of musicianship and blending instruments in a rock band setting. Bandmates will collaborate with one another, arrange songs, gain confidence with their stage presence and learn what it means to be in a band. Some experience with music is valuable to fully benefit from this program. Each participant will take on multiple roles in the band, and will not necessarily spend all their time on their primary instrument. The program will culminate in a performance at the end of the session for family and friends. All instrumentalists are welcome, but space is limited.
